State Representative Tony McCombie Visits Forreston Jr/Sr High School
On Monday, May 12th Illinois 89th District Representative and House Minority Leader Tony McCombie made a visit to Forreston Jr/Sr High School to speak to 7th grade students about the roles and responsibilities of a state representative along with being a House Leader. 7th graders are currently in the state government section of their Constitution Unit. Representative McCombie shared detailed information about the workings in state government, her background on why and how she got into state government, and then answered a lot of student questions. The 7th grade teaching team, 7th grade students, and Forrestville Valley Administration would like to thank Representative McCombie for taking time out of her very busy schedule to share with our students. Social Studies teacher Jake Groom said, “Having Representative Tony McCombie visit and talk to our students is a great real life experience for all of them. It gives them an idea of what it is like to be an elected official and all of the hard work Representative McCombie has done for the people in the 89th District. It was great having her share today!”
